Introducing Giuseppe Stillitano

A photo portrait of conductor Giuseppe Stillitano in an eighteenth-century Italian interior. His left hand is raised, index finger across his right cheek. He is is gazing directly into the camera. He is wearing an ink blue suit with a crisp white shirt and a bow tie. The frame of his glasses picks up the honey shades of the background.

On Sunday 9 November Rehearsal Orchestra’s 2025/26 season will kick off in London with a workshop for young conductors.

Now in its third year, the workshop expands the support we provide for future professionals in developing their skills. We’ll be joined by four student conductors from the Royal College of Music’s postgraduate course in orchestral conducting, under the supervision of our Artistic Director Levon Parikian, to work on Shostakovich’s iconic Symphony No. 5.

Giuseppe Stillitano graduated in piano at the Conservatoire of Reggio Calabria, in conducting at the Conservatoire of Milan, and specialized under Donato Renzetti at APM in Saluzzo. Giuseppe is currently assistant to conductor Gianluca Marcianò, and collaborates with orchestras in Italy, France, Austria, United Kingdom, Poland, Oman and Lithuania. He has received numerous awards and music prizes; he is “Patron of Culture” of the Italian Republic, appeared as “Conductor of the Future” in Opera Charm Magazine and was described as “Italian excellence Abroad” by Music Paper.

We look forward to working with you again, Giuseppe!
