Code of Conduct

RO values a safe, welcoming, inclusive, diverse and healthy environment.

We aim to provide a supportive, encouraging space for players, acting with honesty, integrity and fairness at all times. Ours is a culture of mutual respect and consideration which helps everyone to thrive. We therefore ask everyone involved with the Orchestra to adhere to our code of conduct.

This code of conduct applies to all players, conductors, trustees and freelance staff, and includes, but is not limited to:

Respect for others

Courtesy, helpfulness, a can-do attitude and zero tolerance of unacceptable behaviour. We are all accountable for how we speak or act – please consider how your actions might affect those around you. We will not tolerate behaviour that creates feelings of unease, discomfort or embarrassment or acts of harassment or discrimination.

Good communication

Calm, considered communication accompanied by careful listening.

Players, conductors and freelance staff are expected to undertake courteous behaviour at all times. This includes arriving in good time, being ready to rehearse, and, as far as possible, putting away mobile devices.
