And finally - introducing Leif Tse, a semifinalist of the 2nd edition International Conducting Competition Rotterdam who has conducted the Lithuanian State and Hungarian National Szeged Symphony Orchestras and Oradea Philharmonic. Leif has a special affinity with opera, having premiered 'The Acts of Brízida Vaz' by Gonçalves (Tête à Tête Opera Festival 2024), conducted a double bill production of 'Une éducation manquée' by Chabrier and 'Cox and Box' by Sullivan (Hand Made Opera 2023), and acted as assistant on 'Così fan tutte' (Vienna Opera Festival 2022). As a Christopher Hogwood Scholar, Leif is currently pursuing a Master of Performance in Conducting at the Royal College of Music where he has assisted Sir Antonio Pappano, Vasily Petrenko and Martyn Brabbins.
Leif was unable to join us for the conducting workshop last autumn as a result of ill health. We're looking forward to welcoming him for the Tchaikovsky on November 3rd!
