Levon is the second Artistic Director of the Rehearsal Orchestra, having
taken over the role on the death of the founder, Harry Legge, in 2001. Since
then Levon has conducted many successful and challenging courses with RO,
covering a wide range of orchestral repertoire, and has helped continue the
fine tradition of the orchestra as one of the foremost training resources in
the country. As well as his activities with the Rehearsal Orchestra, Levon
is active as a freelance conductor and teacher, and is Principal Conductor
of the City of Oxford Orchestra, Conductor of the Royal College of Music
Junior Sinfonia and Visiting Guest Conductor at Royal Holloway University of
London. He also finds time to read Winnie the Pooh to his son Oliver on an
almost daily basis and is partial to the odd game of cricket.
